A Counseling Practice Rooted in Compassion and Connection
Clarity Cove Counseling was founded by Tonyia Behrendt, MA, LCMHC, NCC, with a heart for helping individuals and families navigate difficult seasons with care and support. Tonyia brings experience in working with children, adolescents, adults, and families, and her therapeutic style is warm, empathetic, and empowering.
Before opening Clarity Cove Counseling, Tonyia spent years supporting clients through concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional dysregulation, ADHD, relationship challenges, parenting struggles, and family difficulties. Her background as both an educator and therapist gives her a unique understanding of the emotional needs of children, teens, and families.
Today, Clarity Cove Counseling continues that mission by offering personalized therapy services designed to meet each client where they are.
Who We Help
Every person’s story is different, and therapy is not one-size-fits-all. At Clarity Cove Counseling, our therapists work with a variety of ages and life stages, including children, tweens, teens, young adults, adults, and families.
Families may reach out because a child is struggling with big emotions, school stress, peer conflict, grief, anxiety, or behavioral challenges. Teens may need support as they navigate identity, relationships, emotional changes, academic pressure, or life transitions. Adults may seek therapy for anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, parenting challenges, self-esteem, or overwhelming seasons of life.
No matter the reason for reaching out, therapy can provide a supportive place to slow down, process what is happening, and develop tools for moving forward.

Therapy Services Designed Around Each Client
At Clarity Cove Counseling, therapy is collaborative and personalized. Our therapists use evidence-based approaches to help clients better understand their emotions, strengthen coping skills, and create meaningful change.
Depending on each client’s needs, therapy may include approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, EMDR, Attachment-Based Family Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, and other supportive strategies.
For some clients, therapy may focus on learning how to manage anxiety or stress. For others, it may involve processing trauma, improving communication, building self-esteem, navigating grief, adjusting to life changes, or strengthening family relationships.
The goal is not to have every answer before starting therapy. The goal is to begin with support.

• Relationship challenges
• Coping skills development
Reaching out for therapy is not a sign of weakness. It is a step toward clarity, support, and healing.
What to Expect When Starting Therapy
Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially if it is your first time or if you are seeking support for your child. At Clarity Cove Counseling, we strive to make the process feel welcoming and approachable.
The first step is simply reaching out. From there, our team can help determine which therapist may be the best fit based on age, needs, concerns, and availability. During therapy, clients are encouraged to move at a pace that feels comfortable while working toward meaningful goals.
For children and teens, therapy may also include support for parents and caregivers so that progress can continue outside of the counseling room. For adults, therapy offers a private space to process experiences, gain perspective, and learn practical tools for everyday life.
